Geoffrey B. Small EV8J04 Handmade Single Breasted Coat Jacket With Patch Pockets – LABELS

This super limited edition GBS Evolution VIII EV8J04 handmade superjacket is one of only five pieces crafted worldwide this year, with just two made exclusively for LABELS, representing all of Europe. The jacket is based on an advanced “extensionism” longer-length single-breasted peak-lapel design with extensive tailored tactical pocketing. It is crafted from Super 120’s extrafine pure Tasmanian worsted wool striped suiting cloth, woven in Biella, Italy, renowned for its fine wool production. The lining combines hand-cut jacquard viscosa luxury fabric and pure cupro sleeve linings by Ezio Ghiringhelli in Varese. The fabric underwent a complex hand-dyeing process at the GBS Superworkrooms, requiring over 22 hours to achieve its mottled colors, patina, shaping, drape, and softness.

The jacket features five functional front pockets, including two with button flaps for security and capacity, and two hand-cut inside besom pockets. Additional design elements include handmade working buttonhole surgeon’s sleeve cuffs, extensive single-needle double-stitching for durability, 2.5 cm seam allowances on major seams for size adjustments, hand-cut and tailored side vents, and advanced flat-form micro-4-hole real horn buttons custom-made by Claudio and Cinzia Fontana in Parma. Thirteen hand-stitched buttonholes, each requiring 10–12 minutes to complete with pure silk Bozzolo Reale Milano Seta threads, further reflect the exceptional craftsmanship.

The piece includes a pure silk hand-dyed label by Mion SpA in Torreglia, the first in the luxury industry to eliminate plastic polyester yarns, attached entirely by hand with silk threads. Variations in color and density highlight the artisanal techniques. Buttons and buttonholes should be handled with care. Professional cleaning or gentle handwashing in cold water, with buttons protected by foil or plastic wrap, is recommended. Avoid machine washing or drying.
