Geoffrey B. Small EV8J10 Handmade Elongated Double-Breasted, 6 Buttons, Double Vent Tailored Jacket – LABELS

This super limited edition GBS Evolution VIII EV8J08 handmade jacket is a one-of-a-kind creation made exclusively for LABELS. It is based on an advanced “extensionism” elongated silhouette version of a six-button, double-breasted, four-pocket tailored jacket pattern, showcasing extensive tailoring research. The fabric is a “Noble Flannel” cashmere and wool chalkstripe suiting cloth, woven by Fratelli Piacenza 1733 in Pollone, Biella—the world’s oldest woolen mill, now in its 14th generation of family ownership. The interior features a pure silk raso satin rose print lining from Como, Italy, known as the global leader in fine silk fabric production. 

The jacket underwent hand-dyeing at the GBS Superworkrooms in Cavarzere Venezia, with over 10 hours of specialized work to achieve its mottled colors, patina effects, and softness. The design includes an extended shoulder and body length silhouette, enhanced by hand-padstitched canvas horsehair interfacings with over 1,000 invisible stitches for a natural roll along the lapels and collar. Details include real working four-button surgeon’s sleeve cuffs, hand-cut besom and welt pockets, hand-cut side vents, and generous 2.5 cm seam allowances for adjustments up to one full size. 

The piece is finished with custom-made real horn buttons by Claudio and Cinzia Fontana in Parma, and 13 hand-stitched buttonholes crafted with pure silk Bozzolo Reale Milano Seta threads, requiring 10–14 minutes each. A hand-dyed pure silk label, created by Mion SpA in Torreglia, eliminates plastic polyester yarns and is attached entirely by hand using silk threads. Variations in color and density are intentional, reflecting the artisanal dyeing and crafting techniques.

Buttons and buttonholes require careful handling. Professional cleaning is recommended, or hand washing in cold water with buttons protected by foil or plastic wrap. Avoid machine washing or drying.
